Mohammed Sultan - محمد سلطانI do consider this book as an evolution in the critical approach to the new wave of violence – as the author considers it- carried out by the U.S. The very high pace of terrorist attacks along with other types of violent events that took place inside the US or even out of the US but targeting the American entities and personnel is not only a sign of hatred towards America, but rather a sign of the escalated use of violence and wrath derived out of the American nationalism. It is as if the author is trying to grab the reader's attention to another perspective or angel in which the vision becomes a bit more objective. Lieven argues that the attack of 9/11 is merely a mirror that let the people know what is going on because it has been dated back a lot earlier than that. "Such events enlightened us that it is more about how ready are we to use the violent approaches", the author commented. Accordingly, a lot of theories are brought to the surface such as the connection with Likud regime, the fundamentalist conservative Bush's administration, etc. in other words, Lieven tries to point out the shift towards the use of violence trying to analyze and logically bisect and dissolve this issue utilizing different analyses and incorporating many means.
